This weekend Lightroom, brings to you a reading of ‘The House that Sonabai Built’ followed by clay work with Vishakha Chanchani!

The true story of Sonabi – a woman from a small village and her artistic journey ‘The House That Sonabai Built’ recently won the Hindu Young World Good Books Awards.

Join the author Vishakha Chachani as she takes children on a treasure hunt through the book, before encouraging them to tell their own stories through the medium of clay.

*About the author and facilitator:*
Vishakha Chanchani is a writer and illustrator of children’s books and has worked in art education for over 25 years. Formerly at The Valley School and Centre for Learning, she is currently visiting faculty at Srishti School of Art Design and Technology. Vishakha is also the founder of the Craft Studio, which works with clay to fashion handmade jewellery and ragdolls.
