Spend your day horsing around amidst the woods, away from the city. An ideal place to spend a Sunday, where you can relax and the kids can have some outdoor fun.
When you think about horse riding, two extreme images come to mind. At one end, you imagine yourself bargaining for an awfully short pony ride at a typical touristy destination, while the other extreme is where you find yourself out of place in a highbrow and nose in the air setting. Thankfully, there’s a place not too far from Bangalore that’s not only cheerfully friendly but also promises to give your kids much more than a great riding experience.
The Embassy International Riding School
Located just 27 kms north of the city, is very accessible and makes for a great day trip for both children and adults. Unlike most clubs, the Embassy Riding School is fairly unrestricted and far from uptight. The hospitality & openness the place offers will surely surprise you.
What we like
It’s an ideal place to spend a Sunday, where you can plan for a relaxed lunch at the Ai Cavalli – the italian restaurant on campus that serves simple home-style Italian cuisine. Even though the menu is limited, it has more than plenty to offer. From pastas, salads, sandwiches and grilled chicken to finger food that your kids won’t fuss about. Ask for a nicely chilled beer and you can lay back and enjoy the rustic feel of the place. While you wait for your food, you can walk around the stables or enjoy the lawn, which houses a few friendly pooches and farm animals. There’s also a trampoline to keep the active ones busy. Post-lunch, your child could set off for an hour-long pony ride into the woods with a qualified instructor.
We’ve visited the Embassy Riding School on several occasions, spending the day with family on one occasion, while the other visits were for play dates and birthday parties. It has always been a pleasant and fun experience. It makes for a unique venue for birthday parties, a lot of fun for the kids especially if you & your expected guests live in the North Bangalore area.
So ‘lean into the collar’ and plan a trip soon for some awesome fun!!
They also conduct summer and weekend kids camp where kids get hands on experience on different aspects of riding. They also organize own-a-pony day. You can find more details by getting in touch with them or through their website.
The Embassy Riding School also makes for an ideal weekend getaway where you could stay in one of the five luxury tents, offering a unique camping experience both to kids and grown ups alike. The best part is that you are not far from home.
There is no charge for entering the place. Cost for the pony ride per child is Rs 600 for an hour. For booking the accommodation and tariff details you can call the above mentioned numbers or visit their website.
