Openhouse Movement & Dance Classes for Kids
Movement & Dance is a space designed to help pre-primary children develop physical abilities such as balance, control and coordination. Through a focus on aerobic and dance exercise, Openhouse Movement & Dance Classes are designed to help students get active, while at the same time having lots of fun.
Beginner level (Months 1 – 6)
Dance Fitness · Zumba & Aerobics · Hurdle Games · Movement Practice
On completion of Level 1, students will practice dance and movement through different techniques and sub-genres such as dance fitness, aerobics and zumba. Hurdle games and movement practice activities are designed to help develop physical motor skills and muscle-brain coordination.
Intermediate Level (Months 6 – 12)
BollyHop Dance · Yoga · Intensive Movement Practice · Creating Choregraphies
On completion of Level 2, students will be able to start showing off their dance skills, through a focus on a style of dance, and a focus on flexibility and muscle control through Yoga. They will also start learning how to create their own choreographies, which will be further developed in the next level.
Advanced Level (Months 12+)
Ballet · Jazz · Street · Fusion
On completion of Level 3, students will have a basic understanding of four different genres of dance, which will encourage their creative thought in movement spaces and you can expect to start seeing signs of confident performers by this level.
By the end of three months, students will also begin to participate in showcases and performances.
Certification: Certificates are awarded to all students who successfully complete two showcases within 6 months with above 85% attendance for their regular classes and then move on to the next level.
