Openhouse Dance Classes for Kids

Openhouse Dance Classes for Kids have been designed to creatively explore different forms of dance and movement. Through an amalgamated curriculum that spans across theoretical and practical knowledge of Dance, students learn the art of performance and expression. This allows students to let their artistic expression flow through carefully designed activity plans.

Beginner level (Months 1 – 6)

B’boying · Footwork · Top-Rock · Down-Rock

On completion of Level 1, students will be able to perform basics of the Hip Hop style of dance, using hand and footwork techniques as well as create choreographies combining different standing positions.

Intermediate Level (Months 6 – 12)

Beginner Block (4 counts) · Beginner Choreography · Beginner-Intermediate Block (8 counts) · Beginner- Intermediate Choreography (with all 4 components from level 1)

On completion of Level 2, students will advance into more complex routines: performing combined routines of hand and footwork, as well as 8 count routines. This is where they will be able to perform entire song choreographies!

Advanced Level (Months 12+)

Fusion Afro · Fusion House · Fusion Locking · Fusion Waacking

On completion of Level 3, students will progress into combining different genres of Hip-Hop. By learning the basics of different techniques and styles, not only will performance abilities get refined but this is where they will be able to perform and choreograph their own routines!

By the end of three months, students will also begin to participate in showcases and performances.

Certification: Certificates are awarded to all students who successfully complete two showcases within 6 months with above 85% attendance for their regular classes and then move on to the next level.
