h3. Perch presents *MONKEY AND THE MOBILE*
‘Monkey and the Mobile’ uses the mobile phone and technology as a theme and looks at their impact on our lives through stories – some real, some imagined. Through unusual and everyday characters like Selfie-Gopal, Etroverts , a family of Emoji’s and animals with identity crises, larger themes like identity, control and memory are explored. Conceived in a collaborative manner, the play uses a combination of the actor, image and music, with a focus on story telling that is simple and engaging.
‘Monkey and the Mobile’ was made possible by the generous support of the Alliance Française of Madras, India Foundation for the Arts, The Heterotopian Design Group (A division of Human Factors International Inc.), Sundaram Finance Group and Z Enviro Industries.
This play premiered at the Alliance Francaise of Madras on October 31, 2015 and was subsequently staged in Adishakti, Pondicherry in November, 2015.
