Blackbuck Conservation Trails

The Blackbuck Conservation Trails is ideal for parents and kids, wildlife enthusiasts, budding photographers. Here is an opportunity where you can come and witness the graceful and slender species, the Blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra).

The Blackbuck Sanctuary is situated 150 kms from Bangalore. In addition to Blackbucks, the grasslands are also packed with jackals, Indian Foxes, hares and other small mammals. Participants can also find Harriers resting on the rocks. The wide variety of insects, rats and snakes found in the grasslands attract these raptors. Additionally participants can see the Bee eaters, Lapwings, Indian Courser, Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse, Spotted Doves, Bush Larks, Red -vented Bulbuls, Babblers, Bush Quails, Jungle Mynas, Pond Herons, Egrets, Collared Kingfishers and many more resident birds.

h3. Itinerary

06:00 am: Start From Bangalore. Pick up from MG Road Metro Station.
08:00 am: Breakfast
09:30 am: Reach the base camp watch tower
09:40 am: Camp briefing and description
10:30 am: Start with the Blackbuck trail
02:00 pm: Camp Closure and Lunch
06:00 pm: Back to Bangalore. Drop at MG Road Metro Station.

h3. Transport

  • Pick up and Drop facility will be available.
  • Meals and Refreshments – Simple, hygienic, Breakfast and Lunch.Campers may carry their own dry-snacks as well.
  • On Camp Assistance – The camp will be guided by our resource persons. Any help needed should be communicated to them.

  • Water Bottle
  • Cap,Sunglasses,Sunscreen lotion as per your own need
  • Personal medicines if any needed
  • Insect repellents
  • Binoculars

h3. Things to Avoid:

  • Avoid carrying valuables
  • Do not feed the Blackbucks
  • Do not litter and kindly adhere to the reserve’s rules
  • No Alcohol, no smoking, no drugs.

h3. Tips

  • Dress for comfort. Do avoid bright colours and stick to muted shades of green, black, grey and brown. The more you melt with the background, the better.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes.
  • Carrying Binoculars could be more helpful for bird watching.
