Playing with your child has a magical effect on his/her growth and nothing at all, can make up for the time ‘you’ spend with your own child.
I am a Parenting Writer and a Mom Blogger who stays at home and works from home. ‘At home’ italicised because I assign a huge amount of importance to it. After I became a mother, I took a break from work which I have been extending for the last 14 months! And let me tell you, this extension has been a willing and a happy one!
I am happy to be home with my son, because I cannot afford to miss a single moment of his growing up, because my child is very precious to me (just like how your child is to you) and so is his growing up.
I love to spend time with him by simply crawling along with him aimlessly, babbling meaningless words in the baby lingo, splish-splashing water with him in the bath, banging spoons and forks on the high chair for no reason and doing more of such random, cute, meaningless-yet-so-very-meaningful stuff endlessly day in and day out. In short, I love to ‘play’ with him.
Playing with your child has a magical effect on his/her growth and nothing, trust me, nothing at all, can make up for the time ‘you’ spend with your own child.
So, here I am serving to you all a platter full of 5 creative ideas for constructive play with your toddler.
1. Bubble Baby
A bubble tube / bubble gun is what my son enjoys the most, at 14 months. He loves to catch those bubbles only to see them break later and by playing with bubbles, he also gets a chance to understand that things are formed to get destroyed and get formed again! Moreover, the bubbles give an awesome look to the play area.
2. Cycling Trip

Taking your toddler out on her tricycle can be a great idea of fun and play for her. These days, all tricycles come with a director and you can have absolute control over your child. Kids learn to go outdoors and explore the world from a safe distance. So, this little piece of fun meets the purpose and keeps your toddler smiling all through!
3. Hand Puppet Show
Buy a couple of colorful puppets that you can wear on your hands and create a story using all the imagination at your disposal. You can be really creative, funny, serious, talkative and more, using these puppets. You can communicate with your toddler, make him laugh and also teach him things using these.
4. Balloon party
Inflate as many balloons as you can and fill up a room with these. Let your toddler free inside the room and see the fun unveil as his hands and eyes coordinate for fun! Your toddler would definitely love to bounce, burst, hit the balloons and will have a gala time for sure, just like my toddler has.
5. Reel life and Real life
For a few minutes, assume that your child’s doll or Ninja has come to life and act out certain stories as if that character is playing, sleeping, eating, laughing and so on. Your child will learn some real life actions during this and will enjoy it all the more.
The ones listed above are all-time favourites of my toddler and I’m sure even your toddler has her set of favourite ones. Which play ideas top the list of your child? Let me know in the comments section below so that other parents reading it can also try new and fun things with their toddlers!
Happy playing!
