Early Bird

About Early Bird

Early bird is a not-for-profit initiative by Nature Conservation Foundation which aims to develop and distribute a variety of high quality educational material – flashcards and pocket guides – to introduce children to the wonderful world of birds and bird watching. The flashcards are designed like a game and are great tools to be used for indoor or outdoor activities, in a classroom setting or even by individual children. While we do not ourselves conduct outreach programmes, a large number of schools, nature groups and NGOs across the country have purchased our material and found it useful.

Early Bird has the following products

  • What’s that bird? – A set of 40 flashcards on common birds of India (designed as an interactive, educational game).
  • Pocket guide: Peninsular India – A handy fold able guide for beginner birders which features 135 familiar birds of Southern India.
  • Pocket guide: Spiti/Ladakh – A handy fold able guide to 137 birds of the high-altitude of the Trans-Himalayan region.
